Primary Decompositions for Left Noetherian Rings
Two constructions are given that describe respectively all shortest primary decompositions and all shortest uniform decompositions for left Noetherian rings. They show that these decompositions are, in general, highly non-unique.
متن کاملModular decomposition and the Reconstruction Conjecture
We prove that a large family of graphs which are decomposable with respect to the modular decomposition can be reconstructed from their collection of vertex-deleted subgraphs.
متن کاملSeparable bimodules and approximation
Using approximations, we give several characterizations of separability of bimodules. We also discuss how separability properties can be used to transfer some representation theoretic properties from one ring to another one: contravariant finiteness of the subcategory of (finitely generated) left modules with finite projective dimension, finitistic dimension, finite representation type, Ausland...
متن کاملBimodules and Abelian Surfaces
Introduction In a manuscript on mod representations attached to modular forms [26], the author introduced an exact sequence relating the mod p reduction of certain Shimura curves and the mod q reduction of corresponding classical modular curves. Here p and q are distinct primes. More precisely, fix a maximal order O in a quaternion algebra of discriminant pq over Q. Let M be a positive integer ...
متن کاملDo Noetherian Modules Have Noetherian Basis Functions?
In Bishop-style constructive algebra it is known that if a module over a commutative ring has a Noetherian basis function, then it is Noetherian. Using countable choice we prove the reverse implication for countable and strongly discrete modules. The Hilbert basis theorem for this specific class of Noetherian modules, and polynomials in a single variable, follows with Tennenbaum’s celebrated ve...
